Why we publish on WordPress.org
We run WordPress in production every day, on this site and on the platforms we own. The tools we publish are the ones we wrote because we needed them ourselves, which is a better test than a product plan. Publishing them in the open means they are read, reviewed and used by people who owe us nothing, and that keeps the quality honest.
Free also means free. The plugin does its job without an account, and nothing in it stops working if you never speak to us.
