WooCommerce stores
WooCommerce charges no platform fee on your orders. Over a year that difference is usually larger than the cost of the build, which is the whole argument for it.
The difference that matters
Shopify charges an extra 0.6% to 2% on every order in Kuwait, because Shopify Payments does not operate here and a local gateway counts as third-party. WooCommerce charges nothing — it is software running on your own hosting, and the only cut anyone takes is the gateway’s.
On KD 10,000 a month that is roughly KD 720 to KD 2,400 a year that stays with you.
What it costs to run
WordPress and WooCommerce are free. What you actually pay for is hosting, a few paid extensions if you need them, and someone to keep it working.
That last item is the real difference from Shopify. Shopify maintains itself; WooCommerce does not. PHP updates, plugin updates and gateway compatibility are ongoing work, and a Woo store nobody maintains eventually breaks at checkout — usually quietly.
That is what the yearly fee below is for. Anyone selling you a Woo store as a one-off payment is selling you a problem eighteen months out.
What it costs
Two parts, kept separate so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
Development — KD 990, once. WordPress and WooCommerce set up on hosting we manage, your theme built to your brand in Arabic and English, KNET connected through MyFatoorah or Tap, and your products loaded. Paid in advance, before work starts.
Hosting and maintenance — KD 195 a year. Hosting, updates, backups, security and bug fixes, for as long as the store runs. Paid once a year in advance, renewing automatically.
The yearly fee matters more here than on Shopify. Shopify maintains itself; WooCommerce does not, and an unmaintained Woo store eventually fails at checkout without telling anybody.
When Shopify is the better choice
We will say so rather than sell you the one with the better margin for us.
Choose Shopify if you want to run the store yourself with no technical help, if you sell across several countries and channels, or if you want an app for every idea you have. Choose WooCommerce if order volume is high enough that the platform fee stings, if you need the store to behave in a way an app cannot, or if you already run WordPress.
What is not included
Your domain, your gateway fees, and any premium extension licences your store specifically needs. We do not resell those or mark them up.
Paid advertising, photography and delivery operations are also outside the scope.
How long it takes
Two to three weeks for a straightforward store, most of it spent on product data and on MyFatoorah onboarding, which takes three to seven working days and needs your commercial licence.
