Tothiq Masjid
Tothiq Masjid is a WordPress block theme for masjids and Islamic centres, in English and Arabic. The top of the home page is a live prayer-times card: the next prayer with a countdown, Adhan and Iqamah for every prayer, Jumuah and today’s Hijri date.
See the live demo — a sample Islamic centre in Kuwait, built with nothing but the theme.
Prayer times without a timetable to type in
Enter the masjid’s location once and choose the calculation method it follows — Kuwait, Umm al-Qura, Dubai, Qatar, Egyptian, Muslim World League, ISNA, Karachi, Jafari or Tehran — and the Asr method. The Adhan times are worked out for every day of the year. For each prayer, set the Iqamah as minutes after the Adhan or as a fixed time. The Hijri date follows the Umm al-Qura calendar and can be moved a day or two to match the local sighting.
The times are also worked out in the visitor’s browser, so a cached page never shows yesterday’s times, and the countdown ticks live. A Prayer timetable page template shows the whole month with today highlighted.
Everything else a masjid site needs
Programmes, upcoming events, services such as nikah, janazah and zakat, a donation band with a project progress bar, and a visit section with the address, practical notes, a photo and directions. On a phone the prayer card comes first, and a bar at the bottom shows the next prayer with a Directions button.
Every button reaches you
Every action is Directions, WhatsApp, Call or your own donation page. There is no form to configure and no email address on show.
Set up in one screen
Click “Set up your site” after activating the theme, or go to Appearance → Customize → Tothiq Masjid. Add the masjid’s photo, name and line in English and Arabic, address, phone and WhatsApp, then the prayer settings: location, method, Asr, Iqamah for each prayer, Jumuah times and any Hijri adjustment. Set the site’s timezone to your city in Settings → General, because the prayer times follow it.
Arabic is a first-class language, not an RTL afterthought
Every detail is held in both languages, and each section has its own Arabic pattern. Install the free Polylang plugin, add Arabic, and every page gets an Arabic twin that the header, sections and footer follow.
Requirements
WordPress 6.7 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer. Tested on WordPress 7.1.
Where it is
Tothiq Masjid is free, and it is going into the WordPress.org directory like Tothiq Service and our plugins. The demo above tracks the current build.
If you would rather we built and ran your masjid’s site for you, that is website design and development. Send us a message on WhatsApp.
