RTL READY
A WordPress plugin that makes Arabic, Persian and Urdu pages display the way their readers expect: phone numbers, times and prices in the right order, one style of digits, proper fonts, and a health report that shows what is still wrong. Built, owned and operated by Tothiq.
The problem it addresses
WordPress switches a page to right-to-left, and that is where its help ends. What is written inside the page is left alone, so Arabic sites ship with phone numbers a customer cannot dial, opening hours that read backwards, the currency on the wrong side of the price, arrows pointing the wrong way and “Read more” left in English. The owner rarely sees it, because the page looks fine at a glance. The customer does.
RTL READY fixes these as each page is shown, and its health report scores every page, product, menu and theme string out of 100, with what to fix first. It works with the block editor, the Classic editor, Elementor, WooCommerce, Polylang and WPML, on single-language sites as well as bilingual ones.
What building it taught us
Fix the page, not the content. Every fix is applied as the page is sent to the visitor, and nothing is written to posts or the database. Switch a fix off, or deactivate the plugin, and every page is exactly as it was. That is what lets the fixes be switched on from the start without asking the owner to trust them first.
Correct by the rules is not correct for the reader. The browser orders mixed Arabic and Latin text by a strict algorithm, and a phone number or a time range comes out in an order no reader would write. In Arabic a time range starts on the right. Numbers have to be treated as one unit, placed where a reader looks for them.
Three languages are three scripts, not one. Persian has its own digits, Urdu reads best in Nastaliq, and Arabic sites here prefer Latin digits. Each language gets its own font, served from the site itself, and its own digits, rather than one setting stretched across all three.
And a free plugin has to be genuinely free. As with PINMEOUT, the free plugin and the paid add-on are two separate plugins, so every automatic fix and the health report stay free for good.
Where it is
Live at rtlready.com. The free plugin is going into the WordPress.org directory, and the Pro packages for weekly checks, missing translations and client reports follow from $19 a year. It comes out of the same bilingual work we do for clients in website design and development.
