KUWAIT ONE

kwt.one →

What is happening, what you need, and what is worth knowing — an Arabic publication for Kuwait. Built, owned and operated by Tothiq.

The problem it addresses

A great deal of practical Kuwaiti information is either buried in a PDF on a ministry site, passed around as a screenshot, or written in English only. Someone looking for a procedure, a fee or a deadline in Arabic often finds nothing they can rely on.

KUWAIT ONE publishes that material properly in Arabic: dated, sourced, and written to answer the question rather than to fill a page.

What building it taught us

Publishing at volume in Arabic is a production problem before it is an editorial one. Typography that is set rather than mirrored, headings with the right leading, Arabic-Indic numerals used consistently, and pages that stay fast on a phone — get these wrong and the writing does not matter.

It is also where we learned most of what we know about being read by machines as well as people. Specialist Arabic content is thin enough that a well-structured, dated, clearly-sourced answer stands out to a search engine and to an assistant — which is the whole thesis behind our search work.

And the discipline that matters most: a correction published quickly is worth more than a piece that was never wrong, because the readers who need this material are acting on it.
